The contest’s official page states that Unitel Creative Camp is an innovation competition, created by Cape Verdean telecommunications company Unitel T+ and implemented by the Business Incubation Center (BIC) with the participation of the Innovation and Enterprise Support (IES).
The ten selected candidates will have access to numerous sessions that can assist their journey to success through expert mentorships, talks, workshops, networking and pitching sessions.

The aim is to support young entrepreneurship in Cape Verde, by valuing ambitious and innovative projects with high-impact on the domestic business sector.
Vando Pereira, a musician and computer engineer currently residing on the island of Sal, was one of the best placed participants in the first edition of United Creative Camp, which took place in the city of Praia.
Vando’s project, considered to be one of the best, is a computer software program that carries out simultaneous translation from several languages into Cape Verdean Creole. “The experience was rather good, excellent even. I believe I won because I prepared my project thoroughly and it is a viable one”, he recounts.
The third edition of Creative Camp will consist of more than 15 hours of training, 11 days of mentorship and business guidance. Additionally, several other sessions will be dedicated to networking and presenting projects to potential investors.
This year’s training will focus on the identification of technological solutions applied to tourism, with particular focus on the energy sector.
