To date, the Cabo Verde Digital scholarship has presented encouraging results. CV Digital provided financial support for around 150 young entrepreneurs and 83 projects in the first three editions of the program. The Cabo Verde Digital Scholarship will support at least an additional 100 youths in 2023, with two new editions of the program planned for the year ahead.
Cabral provides some advice for youths on how to better organize their application process. This is the most significant flaw in the 420 projects that have already been submitted, which involve 600 young, enthusiastic entrepreneurs.
Application tips for the Cabo Verde Digital Scholarship
“We observe frequently that the ideas or solutions presented are very intriguing, but are otherwise lacking in the written form, organization, and idea presentation. I suggest that young applicants take some time to reply to the questionnaires present in the application forms, so that their applications and value proposals are clear”, he suggests.
Beyond the Cabo Verde Digital Program, funded by the Cape Verde Government, among other public and private entities, Cabo Verde Digital supports several other programs focusing on youth entrepreneurship, contemplating skill development and the creation of technology-based projects.
For example, the Go Global program, currently in its fourth edition, selects Cape Verdean start-ups to take part in overseas conferences, guaranteeing major visibility and the possibility for internationalization.
Additionally, the Kodê Verde program intends to promote skills in programming, as well as the acquisition of other digital skills.
