The opening session for the Municipal Sports Forum, held at the Salão Nobre dos Paços do Concelho (or Council Chambers’ Noble Hall), was hosted by Carlos Monteiro, Minister of State for Youth and Sports, under the motto of “Together, so that sport doesn‘t stop”.
Over the course of three days, the youths heard speakers from several backgrounds, who approached themes of great value, namely entrepreneurship, inclusion practices, ethics in sports, health, tourism, legal and financing frameworks, event organisation – always with the common theme of sports activities in mind.
Among the mentors and panelists, various important figures were present, such as Djô da Silva (nautical sports entrepreneur), Jordan Semedo (college professor), Lúcio Antunes (football coach), Dilma Vieira (manager and CEO of the incubator IES), or Moisés Évora (journalist), among others.

Over the course of those three days, numerous panels were presented and discussed on many themes, such as: Sports and Youth – The (integrated) participation in everyday life; Entrepreneurship, Tourism, and Sports; Sports and Health; Management of Sports Events; The Practical Dimensions of Ethics and Inclusion in Sports and Legal and Financing Frameworks in Sports.
The Municipal Sports Forum was established to bring forth vital discussions that can contribute to the promotion of sports activities, their development, visibility on a local and national scale, as well as the stimulation of sporting agents and the promotion of healthier lifestyles.
